Trustees voted to reinstate our Volunteer Policy as of September 8^th, 2009.  We have created a 2-tiered volunteer policy:

Tier I – Student Contact/Unsupervised Volunteers These volunteers work directly with students and may have unsupervised contact with students.  This inculdes field trip chaperones, and those working with small groups of students in the library or pod hallways.  REQUIREMENTS: Acknowledgment of Volunteer Handbook , Fingerprint Clearance and District-Issued Badge

Tier II – Non Student Contact/Supervised Volunteers These volunteers serve under the direct supervision of CUSD staff and can never be with students unless the teacher is there.  REQUIREMENTS: Acknowledgement of Volunteer Handbook , Sign-In at Front Office , and Display School-Issued Volunteer Badge/Sticker .

If you have already gone through the volunteer application process, including fingerprinting, this message is for you. Thank you so much for your service to our school and district.  The CUSD Trustees voted to reinstate our Volunteer Policy (Board Policy 1240).  Under this policy, you will be considered a “Tier I Volunteer” allowing you to have direct-contact with students.  The district will be converting all of the current volunteer badges over to a district-issued badge which will be universally recognized at all CUSD schools.  To do this, we will need you to come to the District Office on a Tuesday or Thursday from 1:30 - 4:00.
